26 June 2026: Facing an international field is daunting, especially when you are just starting out, but our development athletes, Kenneth, Abigail, Junkang & Pei Pei, with Pilot Ann, stepped up beautifully and handled the immense pressure like seasoned pros.
Before the race even began, the energy was electric. Missed our final preparations? Check out our pre-race ride reel here, featuring our pre-development cyclists before they throttle on to the Bintan stage.
For two of our Pre Dev athletes, Bintan marked an unforgettable international debut:
Junkang (Bicycle Division)

Meet Junkang
As our newest “kid on the block,” Junkang only had a two-month training turnaround at the Seletar Aerospace track before his international maiden appearance.
Kenneth (Handcycle Division)

Meet Kenneth
Rollout to his first race with incredible determination & proudly represented the Para community
Our returning development athletes showed immense growth in what was only their second international race:

(Handcycle Division)

- Rising to the occasion, Abbie overcame a dead stop on the last hill to bag a personal best time at the Bintan OCBC Championship
- This upcoming tandem pair, Pei Pei & Pilot Ann displayed phenomenal chemistry, gaining invaluable race experience on a challenging international course

Beyond the Bike: Cultivating Team Culture

While we rejoiced together at the various milestones, the true heart of this trip happened away from the race course. When we asked our Pre-Development athletes to reflect on their trip, a common theme emerged: Team Camaraderie.
Apart from gaining invaluable international race experience & the thrill of completing the race course, our pre-development athletes shared that getting to know each other better over a team meal was a major highlight of the trip. We want to extend a massive thank you to our coaches, support staff, families and fans who make these journeys possible.
