PCFS Gains Valuable Experience at ASEAN Para Games Test Event

From 3 to 8 December 2025, the Para Cycling Federation of Singapore (PCFS) conducted a focused training camp and participated in the UCI C1 ASEAN Para Games (APG) Test Event, an Individual Time Trial (ITT) race.

The week served as an important rehearsal for the upcoming APG. Our objectives were clear: to recce the official race route, understand competition logistics, gauge athlete fitness, test mechanical setups, and allow athletes to experience racing independently without caregivers. Just as importantly, the camp aimed to strengthen team bonding.

All objectives were successfully achieved.

The team faced real-world challenges along the way, including logistical hiccups, mechanical issues, and accommodation accessibility concerns. These obstacles became valuable lessons, helping us identify areas to improve for future competitions. Problem-solving on the ground strengthened both our systems and our resilience.

The test race itself offered a true preview of what lies ahead. The course proved demanding, featuring fast downhill stretches, tricky false flats, and a long uphill finish. Competing against some of Asia’s top para cyclists provided invaluable experience and a benchmark for our athletes.

Performance-wise, Team Singapore delivered encouraging results. Amanda secured a silver medal, while Amsyar claimed bronze, marking a proud achievement for PCFS.

More than the podium finishes, the event helped athletes and support staff better understand the flow of international competition. With these insights, we are now better prepared and more confident as we continue our journey toward the ASEAN Para Games.
